The Chamblee secret is out, and we are bustling with growth! I believe Chamblee must be intentional about how we develop so that we continue to progress without displacing the unique communities and businesses around which our city has grown for decades.

Karen and her husband Jonathan have been proud residents of Chamblee since 2003, where their two children attend Chamblee public schools. Karen currently serves as President of the Chamblee Middle School Education Foundation, where she has led fundraising efforts, overseen a review of the Foundation's bylaws and collaborated with other parents, school staff and teachers to distribute in-school grants. Since the fall of 2017, she has held the position of Director/Co-Director of the Chamblee Fun Mud Run, the largest annual fundraiser for the CMS Education Foundation.

Karen is a 2017 graduate of the WIN Leadership Academy, a program offered by Georgia’s WIN List to prepare progressive women to run for elected office. In order to learn more about Chamblee and its development, Karen has completed the Chamblee 101 class, a program designed to educate Chamblee residents about their local government.

Karen earned her Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance from Eastern College and has performed as a professional singer throughout the Atlanta region for over 20 years. She now works as Coordinator of the Songs for Seniors Program at A.G. Rhodes Health & Rehab, a nonprofit provider of rehabilitation and long-term care services for senior citizens.
